Oil's looking mayonaise-like
Did a 200 miles journey on Sunday and it's used water = head gasket problems!!
Rang 2 mechanics ......
#1 quoted £200
#2 quoted £800-£1000. He reckoned that that if you do the gasket, you need to do the chains too, because if you take the head off, you 'disturb' the engine and it's pointless simply replacing the gasket.
Is this correct?

there is no chains on a 1.2 8v #2 is wrong go with #1

Cheers mate. Would £200 for replacing gasket seem about right?

you will need to change the belts

you got price for head gasket (probably manifold gaskets aswell), cam belt kit, oil & filter, water & anti freeze, head skim (?) and labour.
seems like a fair price to me.
