For people who do their own maintenance, what's working on a bike like compared to working on a car?

Almost guarantee you that H&R insurance is the cheapest quotes. All of my mates are with them for sports bikes. Not one of us paid over £450 for our fisrt years insurance..

Fiddly but pretty similair. Simple jobs on a car like air filters and plugs can be a right pain on a bike..

Depends on the bike, older bikes really easy to work on. Modern ones, more bodywork hard to reach areas. Also, things like valve clearances you'd never do on a car, they need doing on a bike sometimes..

Yeah that's the kind of thing I was wondering.

I'm nowhere near getting a bike, but when the cash allows I'm gonna start looking into it.

Ali - TL - Good lad? MIleage, condition, history, price???

My hack

Currently saving for either

a) Cheap sub £1500 bike for track days and summer riding. Something SS600, and doesn't matter so much if I bin it

b) a Benelli. Pater has one he's awaiting some parts for, its a red RS model. Slightly more power, radial brakes etc... I could have this for about £3k I think.

Or, save up for the older outdated model, that I still think is one of the visually most stunning motorcycles of the mordern era.

Or the red one, which is pretty, just not as pretty as the green one.

Decisions decisions......

Warrens is a great custom bike.

Not my kinda thing tbh, but I can see HOW much works gone into that.

Should I do that with my Bandit (insert NO comment here).

XJR1400 as well I see? Old man had one of those too, bucket loads of torque
