Yeah, i'm talking out my arse! I had an R6 as my first bike, just cos i had a sportsbike i didn't suddenly think i was Rossi. All i'm saying is if you're level headed and sensible it doesn't matter what bike you are on! I hated doing my DAS on a naked bike as i've got quite a small frame and didn't feel steady/safe above 75mph. Its all down to personal preferance and the R6 felt comfortable to me and easy to ride.

i only passed last september and the day after i apssed i bought my r6, at first the power was unbelievable, and has took some getting used to. When i was doing my lessons i did my cbt on a 125 then went to a 500 and the power difference from the 125 to the 500 was like jumping from the 500 to my r6. Like everyone says they are only as fast as you make them, the worst thing you can do is go out with more experienced riders and over do it into a situation you cant handle, go out on your own and get a bit of experience thats what i did and now im learing its a lot easier and comes naturally just like driving a car. Remember you dont have to go fast to enjoy it too. Anyways good luck with your test, and a bike is down to your own preference, everyone to their own, heres my baby

Like the SV's,
acceleration of the SV's is around the same as the r6, just the r6 will do quite a bit more on the top speed.
Just find the 4 cylinders a bit boring and common :/
as this topic is proving

a lot of people have r6's because of their name, they are known to be light and powerful, i bought mine because ive always liked yamahas, the colour is amazing and there is a lot you can do to them, the cbr r was too small for me, so it was a toss up between the r6 and gsxr, and the gsxr's were a lot more to insure for some reason. Ive done alosrts to mine since i got it, tyres brakes oil filter chain sprockets all for piece of mind and ive modded it to my taste, high level exhaust polished wheels no rear indicators as there built into the rear lights and a few more mods to come. There a good bike lght to handle and have plenty of power cant fault em!

My first bike was (is) a 1200cc. Remember first ride on it, 165mph down the A1. Scared me a bit

id like a honda cbr 400/600 as a first bike but as i havent rode a manual bike before i think its best to go for a 125cc first then go to the bigger ones, any recommendations??
