Are the engines the same as the sri 8v mpi ?
just bought one and it looks the same but facts and figures differ ?

so i would maybe need the astra ecu aswell ?
I'm just thinking between the power gains because i dotn want to downgrade

Exactly the same 82bhp engine.

The Mk3 1.4 8v MPi was only found in the 'Si' model.

got it and stipped it all down, all the same just air coolant temp sensor is in a diff place
