Do you know anyone with a garage that has trade plates?

If I bought Ash's corsa we were going to use trade plates to get it from his folks place to nottingham

Plus dave, getting into windsor you will either go past Ours/Cleartones/Pips ANPR cameras, send message to the old bill, they send out a fine/worse to the owner.....you.

Just to let you know

You can drive your vehicle to and from a pre-arranged test at an MOT test station provided you have adequate insurance cover in place for the use of that vehicle.

This also applies to vehicles being driven to and from a prearranged test at a Vehicle Inspection Check (VIC) test station, an approved weight testing station and reduced pollution test.

Tis the law, taken from http://www.direct.gov.uk/en/Motoring/OwningAVehicle/HowToTaxYourVehicle/DG_069671

But no mention of distance

Thank you very much mate.

Well it was the local traffic laison officer that had told me about the tax thing Dave, so you are best to speak to them about the legalities.

Gary,

you can as far as MOT is concerned but no without TAX you are still open to a fine from DVLA or the Police.

You can only drive it a reasonable distance.

Although this isn't a hard figure going past a few mot garages on your way home would probably be more than reasonable.

It needs to be declared SORN when driving without tax to get an MOT. And insured.
