If you want to be legit, change insurance companies

I'm sure you get a period where you can cancel? I'm not sure I've always paid straight off...
Elephant have always been good for me but best bet is to ring around.

I've heard Brentacre are very good although they haven't been able to come all that close on quotes for me in the last 2 years.
Best I've come across money wise is Norwich Union (mine was a standard policy tho, when I started to list mods they told me I could only list 3 and I had a list of 9 so not much good anymore) because of that, this year I'm with HIC, best quote with all mods declared. There's a bit of paperwork to fill in and you've gotta send copies of your license, proof of ncb etc. but if it's cheapest then it's worth the extra effort

all the mods on the car are visual... nothing to enhance the performance though... if i hit someone or someone hits me and want to take it through insurance companies... what can happen to me if i havent declared mods?

If you're at fault your insurance company will either refuse to payout and you'll have to foot the bill or your insurance company will payout for the other car then get the money back off you.
Also the possibility of a fraud charge.
It's not worth it mate, I'll admit I did it for a while, not proud but in my young and naive way I thought, if anything happens I've got all my standard gear in the garage, I'll just swap it back and they won't know any better. It was only when I heard about Monster's accident on here that I had some sense knocked into me.
Basically, he had an accident, ended up in a coma, hadn't declared his mods and has now got to pay his insurance company something like7 grand to cover what they paid out on the truck he hit

I didn't know that part about Monster, that sucks...
I didn't have my mods declared on my Fiesta as I put them on towards the end of my policy, took out a new policy on 2nd Jan and decided to declare mods this time, 8 days later I wrote it off and they actually said at least I had my mods declared. Whether I'll get paid out for them or not, who knows.
