Hi everyone Just getting used to running my Corsa. I checked my oil last night and found out it was not even registering. Anyway i am going to put it back up to maximum and start to monitor how much it is using from now on. It has done 105k so i do expect it to use some oil. But how much is to much?? The thing is i dont think it is leaking it, and it isnt a smoker so i am not to nervous if i am honest.

I dont drive it hard very often, esp with the recent weather, its dirven rather sensible i get 38 - 40 mpg from it

The handbook says 1 litre of oil per 1k.

Just check it weekly and/or before long trips and you'll be fine.

In the owners manuals on GSi's/C16XE's it says they can use upto 1litre of oil per 1000 miles.

Oil is blue yes. The white you see is definitely condensation and such in this weather.

Yea, a little white smoke is normal in this weather.

My 1.6 Sport has done 59k, and doesn't use a drop of oil - I do oil changes every 5k, and have had the car now for 20k, and haven't needed to top it up between changes at all.

Why 6k? The service interval is 10k. . .

For those peoples cars that don't use any oil my 12v uses a bit, less than the 1 litre per 1k miles though. It has doe 89k miles mind
