I'd been looking for the past couple of weeks to get one, but there were none local and the ones that were, were over priced and not what i was looking for. then yesterday while traveling home on the bus i saw this mk2 GTI at the side of the road with a for sale sign. Got off at the next stop and ran up to have a look.
It was up for £1100ono, and in the end i got it for £1k which is probably a little over the odds, but it'd only been up for sale that day and i didn't want to let it go as its mint!
Its an '87 mk2 Golf GTI 1.8 16v, Jade Green (although the pics don't show it), has 159k miles on the clock with service stamps to 146k, every tax disc since new, along with MOT's.
Well happy with it!! The only 'faults' i can see with it are that there's a centre cap missing, a small ding in passenger front wing and the red pin stripe down the drivers side is missing. Not really got many plans for it as i had to stretch my budget a bit, so won't be doing any food shopping for at least 3 weeks!  The only plans i do have for it is to enjoy it and look after it. In the distant future i'll be looking at getting some coilies and saving up for a nice set of wheels. Anyway, here's pics

Not really, going to keep it as standard and clean as possible. I'll spend quite a bit on the right kind of wheels, but that won't be anytime soon.

You would be suprised.. going up in prices rapidly. 1k is a bargain.
