I'm thinking of getting one for the astra seeing as I han't touched my crimpus money yet and it's burning a hole in my pocket

Looked on ebay and I want to avoid the shitty "Hong kong specials" where they're like a £100 and last a week

what do you guys have and what would you recomend?

I want one that's Ipod ready and has atleast one pre-out for my sounds. also, a cool looking graphical interface would be nice because some look ab it cheap and they are "big" brands.

pics of what you have would be cool too

The reason for me wanting a DVD player more than anything is that I want to take my sound system to another level and add a couple of sceens in the back possibly along with one up front. I know I would need av outputs for that

I have considered the alpine one you have Graham but they're like £800 new in some places

seen one on ebay for £350- is it worth a pop?

Just realised what you said in the eBay link, I'd definetly recommend it!

Mine came with all the stuff to have Freeview, but you can buy that seperately, it's a decent bit of kit that's for sure.

I haven't even found half the customisable options, I should sit down with the manual really.

Cheers Graham

I did consider a PC but I thought for a descent looking job and chopping up the dash for a double DIN sized screen would be a pain in the arse

mind you, didn't madmike stick a desktop and PS2 in his car?

Pc is far far more effort, I looked into it for mine, do just aswell with a DVD headunit.

You can also get iPod control, where you can control the iPod from the screen, I haven't got round to getting the attachment for that yet.

Kenwood one looks good for the money. Only thing outting me off is the lack of face removal.
