They cannot go xx10xxx xx15xxx as thats not how it works, nor can it go xx51xxx as we already had it.

So what happens?

i've been thinking about this for 6 months and i haven't been able to come up with an explanation yet

it doesn't seem possible as how can you have say AB10 CDE, then 6 months later when the next reg comes out have AB51 CDE.

that would mean that in 2051, that plate would ot be available?

well this year we have 09 and 59 so logically it'll be 10 and 60.....

I think by the year 2051 comes around (if it does ) we wont still be using plastic rectangles on the front of cars as identifiers

this method is supposed to last way beyond 2051 i read the leaflet when they were first introduced but can't remember what happens.

so every ten years it will go up e.g. 20 and 70, 30 and 80, 40 and 90?

but then it couldn't go up any more.

yups what they said. 10 n 60, so 2012 for example will be 12 and 62. Then 2020 will be20 and 70. Supposidly it'll last up until 2049 as by then the september plates will be 99. What happens after that?
