to be used as a track car.... so any upgraded spec is a bonus.

Pref a TypeR, then RA, then STi etc etc. Price sub 5k but could go slightly above if its deserving.

Got a shortlist of a few but there is so much out there... so does anyone know of any good buys out there that I may have not seen?

You won't find a type R for 5K mate..unless it needs a rebuild..

Seen a nice RA the other day but it went in a few days..that was 4K.

Mine would have been perfect you numpty! Fuck the extra doors.I'd say get a cheap V2 STI with full decat..remap..6 pots..coilovers and your laughing for 5K.

Is it just heresay that the 2 door doesnt handle too well?

I have no expierience of a 2 door, but when I was thinking about a type r I got told they weren't so good at handling

Something to do with it beng a saloon car and being set up for 4 doors, having only 2 ruins the weight distribution

load of crap if you ask me... my old bloke has just upgraded from a 4 door sti to a type r, its more of a drivers car no abs, dccd adjustable diff, most rally cars used to be 2door and the ultimate impreza 22b is a 2 door, ive driven both and have to say in standard form the type r is far superior to the 4 door, but can easily catch you out! from what i can see thay are i think the same chassi i may be wrong, but all the running gear exhaust systems everything fit all classics, just the shell thats different. The type r is a real good bit of kit if you can come across the right one

TypeR ??? details would be good - sooner rather than later whys he selling it?

TypeR's dont handle any worse than the saloons why would Subaru have used the TypeR's as the base for some rally cars etc...
