I have 4 years no claims, was 22 at time of new policy, and insure the 1.6 sport.

I pay £28 a month with morethan.

Worked out a tjust over £300 cause I wanted my protected no claims, otherwise it was below the £300.

Not that much extra, if i remember rightly it was around £40 extra.

It was in May though so can;t be exact.

But the protection is worth it imo!

£28 a month is nothing really.

Oh, and don't phone them, do it online.

They say you'll get 10% off this year, and 20% every other year you stay with them.

I don't really know how reflective that is in the price, but it's got to make some difference.

Have you moved house between the quotes, postcode can make a massive difference from my experience, even when you think your postcode is good/bad and according to the postcode list on here it can still vary greatly.

Why does everybody pay so much

Im 23, got 9 points, and just off a 6month ban

I pay £649 FC for a 53 Astra Gsi Turbo

I have 0 no claims, and live in the higher crime rate band, as the Highlands are so massive it covers such a wide area that our crime rate is classed as high,

People in scotland seem to pay less in general for some reason

I have the same car, but only 2 years NCB, and Brentacre quoted me £499 with a £350 excess should I need to claim.

Rang HIC to chat about my renewal and they came out with £476, with £100 excess.

Oh, I also added my mum as a second driver this year as she may need my car from time to time, and my renewal quote dropped by £116

They gave me a limit of 160bhp on the gsi, I could do anything I wanted to the engine or car and if it remained below 160bhp, the price stayed the same, all I needed to do was let them know.

Insurance has been transferred to the Omega, no issues what so ever!
