My Fabia was a reliable 186bhp/290lb ft for 2 years til flogged it for the subaru.
It was a fabulous car actually. Couple pics in my garage i think.

I went for the diesel equivelent, 10bhp less, however 100lb/ft of torque more, much higher MPG and cheaper road tax (by £150 )

And the ability to mod them, remap etc is phenonimal, little input money for fairly decent gains

You need to adapt to driving it though, you cant drive it the same as a Petrol, I got back into a petrol after about 6 months of doing about 500 miles town driving a week in a diesel and was changing gear very early on etc for the first few miles and vice versa when I first got my diesel. They are just as smooth once you get used to the driving style of them, they are so lazy to drive.

i don't do much driving onto motorways so i don't need a diesel. much more fun driving a petrol all the way through the rev range.

Got a diesel for my current car but it was bought pretty much for its mpg.

Diesel cares are only good when compared to a petrol equivalent, in terms of every aspect imho.

I'd rather a new 120d over a 120i for example.
