So far I have gruppe m and a b pipe. Thinking k-pro is the next logical step but dont know if to go playing about with manifolds at the same time

indeed they are the same as any other 2.0 na car really.

Only reason they feel gutless low down is because there is alot more power at the top

With a Gruppe M, b pipe, a Dc sports header you're looking at 235bhp, DEFINITELY get the header done at the same as a K100/KPRO though.

I wouldnt buy the GSI as there are better turbo'd cars out there for the same money

For £6k you have quite good choice, First off the clio 172/182 is a good wee car but just not that quick imo and they are full off rattles as my mates 55plate one showed me.

The CTR is a brilliant performance bargin just now, you can buy a nice facelift CTR for your budget but I must admit the lack of torque in my wifes new CTR compared to mine really does my head in a times as I love the power right from low down the rev range.

You will pick up yourself a nice LCR for that price as well, superb useable power even in standard guise but spend £350 on a CC remap and the car becomes a bit of a beast. Handling wise it wont be as good as the CTR/Clio but its no where near as bad as people think infact the LCR is as near as dammit the same lenth as the CTR. The brakes on them as superb compared to the others. The build quality on the LCR is far superior as well plus its very practical with the 5drs.

did notice a difference, wasnt cheap though, think i paid around 1400 for it.
also got suspension & brakes upgraded at same time, totally changed the car.
i'd have another type r.

yup just make sure you go for uprated engine mounts if you get the header, prone to snapping without them. i fitted an ETD at same time aswel.
also, i'd recommend a short shift kit, i had the neuspeed one, really liked it.
