Robbo:
Easiest way for you to come is up the M40, then onto the M42 heading towords the NEC/Airport.
Go past the NEC/Airport, the junction ater is the M6 towards birmingham, take that junction.
Once on the M6 you will go past a junction, then get off for Birmingham city centre (A38M).
Parking wise there are loads of options, I would avoid the NIA parking as it will be rammed, and park in Brindly Place. All you have to do then is park, walk through brindly place and over the canel (nice pedestrianised area with resturants and bars etc). Its much better car park and it wont be as busy
To get there:
Follow the A38M into Birmingham, go over the fly over (which turns to the right as you go over it), then go under the first tunnel. after the first tunnel move over to the left and dont go under the second tunnel, go up the hill and over the traffic lights.
Once over the lights you will see the road turn left, this is a big roundabout and you want to go straight on. You will see a fair bit of traffic going up the road its called Broad Street. So you will want the second turning once on the roundabout, but you are essentially goign straight on from the direction you came from.
Go up Broad street about 1000m (you will go past the ICC on the right, and then loads of bars either side. You will see the Novatel on the right and some traffic lights. Turn right at the traffic lights, you will come to small roandabout, turn right on to the cobbled street (city Inn hotel will be on your left). Follow the cobbled street and park in the big multi storey Car Park (you wont miss it).
Once parked, come out the car park turn left and follow the cobbled street down, staying to the left when you hit the square. You will see the Sea Life Centre and a bridge over the canel to the NIA.
Hope that helps, if not just follow the brown signs marked 'NIA' off the motorway and park with the other people

When I went to see the Stereophonics, we just parked in the NIA's car parks etc. Was easy parking getting there, had to Pay & Display though. Getting out was bit of a bitch, and sat in the car park for a while - was a cold night so allowed time for the car to warm up
