At huddersfield aren't you? How's ISD going?
Best thing is to read the tutorials, but to do program changes look at the midiformat object.
Although what do you mean by, split the keyboard into 3 regions? You talking about the keyboard slider (kslider)?
Could use multiple if statements, ie: have 3 seperate if statement objects, feed the kslider into it and then filter the results (look at the if statement object help).

its going alright ta mate its just the dividing the kslider into 3 parts so say notes 20-45 play one sound and 46-65 play another sound and so on if you get me.
ill check with them tutorials tomorrow after my exam

like i say you could split it using if statements and do ranges - 'if $1 >=20 and $1 <=45 then $1 = $2' ($1 is the input on the if object and $2 is the output from what i remember).
You could also use the greater than/less objects, or bodge it, use three seperate ksliders and stick them together (to look like one keyboard), certainly the easiest method.
Who's taking you for ISD? Mark? Or Grandad Clarkey?

unless you're wanting to do acoustics, digital embedded audio or audio electronics, then getting any form of degree in Music Tech (straight music is different) is pretty much pointless. If you're wanting to head into a studio (Recording Engineer, Producer) then you're better off trying to beg local studios for you to be a tea boy and work you're way up.
Same goes for "makin' beatz lik snoop dog n timberland", stay at home with Fruityloops <- Edwin Van Cleef, someone at uni, knows feck all in a studio situation or how to use any other DAW other than Fruityloops (hardly industry standard software), but is signed, travels to europe/canada/states to DJ and makes a good living.

Started doing a diploma is Music Tech but then stuffed it off for a full time job. Got my own little studio tho & have a few tracks out/coming out on few labels so I'm happy learning the stuff myself & being a producer. Would love to learn recording tho & how to use the mixing desk's. Digital sound just dont cut it, would rather have my tracks sounding nice & warm with some analog.
Would love to teach it tho something I have a keen interest in...

I should have jumped ship to the BSC side of things instead of sticking out with the music students (BA) - embedded audio and audio electronics is more up my street that sitting down with Cecilia making breakcore or ambient-glitched stuff. Plus tech block has the blueroom 1 studio (not a huge fan of the green rooms) which is decent for studio recording projects (haven't done anything in there since they've replace it with a PT HD system, used to have an older Sony Digital Desk which was ace!), compared to flaky studios over in the CAB building which are just damn right shocking (decent gear, just shite acoustic treatment).
Not sure what i'm doing after uni, just trying to pass at the moment All i know is that i should have partied a lot harder in first and second year, as social life seems to disappear during the final year
Yeah Clarkey is a decent tutor, he spends a lot of time over at ircam so it's probably why he's one of the best MaxMSP tutors at Hudds. Although he's very laid back, which isn't always a good thing.
Did you manage to get yourself to any shows during the festival?

i havent had a chance to get into any of the studios yet as weve been doing location recording and concert hall which is a nice change to sitting in a red hot studio all day
im looking foward to the electronics part of the course as is propely the only part that will give anyone a shot at a job in the real world lol
did you do a placement year?
i never managed to get to any of them, my own fault, i kept putting it off because i am not to keen on concréte music lol
