basically i got a van thats fully comp and i keep temporary insuring corsa becauz its getting work done on it etc but the tax is due on it now and i woudnt be able 2 get tax with temporary insurance would i any ideas as tax due now

try it online, all you need is the reminder number and v5 ref number.

its getting sprayed at minute and will need 2 get home when done but surpose i need 2 sorn it and tow it back then lol

If the car is listed on MID (which it will be if its insured; http://www.askmid.com/ ) and you've got a valid MOT and the V5C you'll be able to tax it online.

no u cant m8 not on a tempoary policy at all i tried it ages ago ,just sorn the car till u have it insured then tax it , its the best way m8

scan in and doctor an old cert.

then take it too the post office did this before, when i was waiting for my new one to come through.

My mate got charged with Fraud for doing something similar, funny story though....

Doubt it would work now as its all computerised

How far do you have to drive it? Only 2 options really...

Just day insure it and drive it home with no tax or tax it for 6 months.

Find someone that does or ring recovery services. Thats what i had to do.

just either insure it and tax it or just drive it home illegally
Other options are since most places now do a cooling off period, get insurance out with whoever, when policy comes through go and tax it, then ring and cancel policy, for free usually as within 14 day period then you just day insure it when and as neccesary

Insure it and take the risk driving it home.

A doctored cover note will fool the old lady in the postie but that'd be illegal
