Hopefully get stronger, I exchanged all my spare $$$'s the other week!

Bought at £1 - $2.1
Sold at $1.54 - £1

It should rise a little but won't see $2 to a £1 for a long time IMO.

Then you want the pound to be strong and the dollar to be poor!

Like when I bought mine £1 = $2.1 I then sold them at $1.54 = £1

Lower the $$$ the more £££ you get back sell now tbh!

No I want the dollar to be strong and the pound to be poor. Not for long, just long enough for me to so some quick banking then the pound can get strong again

Im hoping that it drops to around £1 : $1.2

Can anyone (Willay) let me know how Santander group are doing, current value of shares etc.

I've got 100 shares, but been offered to buy a load more soon, and as everyones in poop right now, im wondering if its a good idea to invest in some more shares? (no plans to sell, just get the income every month from the dividends).

Good/bad idea in current economics.

Can't see Santander going down?

I wish

I have 6 figures sat in USD over in USA that needs to make the jump to sterling at some point. I just want to minimise my loss so I am really keeping a watch on the markets atm

But no-one could see Lehman Brothers going down, HBOS and Lloyds TSB merging to stay alive, Woolworths almost going bust and Northern Rock being nationalised

It's unlikely but anything is possible.

Santander is HSBC size, which is vastly bigger than HBOS, Lloys, Woolworths etc.

Theres always a chance, but looking at figures from my shareholder report, it looks ok and still actually making a bigger profit now than it was this time last year.

I missed out on the exchange rate peak around June when it was over $2:£1, should have bought them but had other stuff to pay for like the holiday. Was $1.82:£1 when I bought & when I returned 2 weeks later it was down to about $1.70:£1!!!!

Dont think i'll be going to the US next year, or on holiday for that matter

Expect it to settle around the 1.60:1 level as has pretty much always been the case
