Well a 1.2 8v 0-60 in 18 secs a c20xe will do 0-60 in about 7 secs, you will like it.

i don't know anyone around here with a XE or 1.6 sport mate thats the problem so i don't really know what the power feels like from both of the engines.iv only been in my cousins 1.4 sport and that felt nippy tbh but it will to me with me driving a 1.2 8v for 2 years.
extras like hoses ect would be nice but depends on the cost of the conversion and other bits like brakes ect that will need upgrading too.
you can have a go in my 1.6 sport mate just let us know

i tried looking into this as id love it...if your serious and could give me a rough figure id let you...ive allready got the front end welded/plated and got a c20xe in so should make life easier?

Go with the saab lump, low pressure turbo, more scope for tuning (so the grapevine says) as the high pressure one is already fairly stressed????
courtenay, £3000+ for a turbo on a 1.4 16v.
Cast flange
T25 turbo
3 head gaskets to raise compression...
i'll let you decide.
Would get far better service, cheaper service, and better backup support from an experienced member on here who's done conversions as suggested.

just thought id let you know my reply from courtenay sport about my email i sent asking about a conversion.
Hello Thanks for your email, but unfortunately we no longer offer these engine transplants due to the age and condition of the old 1.6 and 2.0 XE engines. To be honest most XE engines are now some 10 - 20 years old and so have really done too many miles to be reliable and we cannot offer a warranty on them.
