Hey...

Need a quick bit of help.

I'm selling something and they are going to pay me by bank transfer.

Do they just need from me:

Account name
Account number
Sort code?

Also, with that info can I be scammed in any way?

Thanks

As long as it isn't some nigerian scammer.. can't you accept cash? Or go to the branch of your local bank with the seller?

I do trust them.

They are about 2 hours away and are wary of sending cash (As I would be to)

Just wanted to check they couldn't do anything with my details after.

IBAN and SWIFT are for transferring between banks in different countries IIRC. You just need sort-code, account number and account name to transfer.

I pay about 200+ invoices a month via bank transfer, and you need (or they request anyway) Account name, sort code and number.

Shit or not, the standard 3 things you need to pay via bank transfer is name, acc number and sortcode. 90% of banks will confirm this. Some even want what bank the account is with.
