i've been offered a 2000/W (facelift) saxo 1.4 furio in diablo red, 90k miles, vtr alloys, sunroof etc.
thing is, the gearbox is fooked (needs a new one) - this will be reflected in the price i buy it for...
so... any ideas of rough cost of the part(s) etc? straightforward enough job?
identical to the 106 1.4 gearbox right? not year specific or anything?
will i make money in buying it, fixing it and selling it?
thanks in advance

I own a facelift VTS...would defo look for a better one mate!...should be exactly the same box as the pug, parts are generally cheap (have to look into price to sort it...sure its just the box that has gone?? why buy a 1.4 when the are vtr's going cheap??? i paid £1800 for a mint W reg VTS with 60k on the clock...need to be looking at the car if the box wasnt dead as in service history, owners, etc,etc... for the cost and time im sure u could find a v decent furio/vtr for around £1400ish??? with lower mileage and all in good working order??!

thanks for that mate
i'm not buying it to keep it, just pick up a gearbox, fit it and sell it on...
i've been quoted £200 for the gearbox (low mileage)
i know for sure the gearbox is the only problem because the car is currently at my local garage and the owner doesn't want to pay for the repairs.
what could i expect to sell a 2000/W with 90k for?

i WILL sell my corsa someday! (you want my steering wheel right?) lol
but i wouldn't swap it for a shite 1.4 saxo
any money i make from fixing the saxo will go into the LET fund.
