Completely shit idle is also a symptom. No hot air from the heaters etc

your entire coolant on the floor - but you would definatly notice that and hear it - made me £400 lighter and yes I do believe I was ripped of

Good way the check is either a pressure test or if you want to do it at home take out all your spark plugs and then turn the engine over as if you were starting it, If water blows out of the holes where the spark plugs go then you have a blown head gasket. The Man from the AA taught me that lol

yes it can be, sometimes its normal for a bitof mayo on filler cap on short journeys... but often a sign of failing head
