If she's living off her interest surely she's got massive savings to go into.

I didn't say she was living off interest, but it covers her outgoings.

Only an example

Check you ERC on it. Mines only £500 although I come out of the deal next sept.

If a decent enough deal comes along to beat my 5.74 fixed I might pay the ERC to change

Alex. how long you been in your mortgage?

We renewed at 5.5% (i think) around july time.
We're with Abbey.

Do mortgage companies tend to have one fixed get out fee or is it time dependant?

As mentioned above, if its £1000 we may be better off cancelling, adding the £1k to our mortgage and enjoy around £300 per month less.
