For those of you who dont already know I have been building a Corsa 2.5 v6. This morning I went to the yard to finish the car and bring it home. Was just a case of bolting on the exhaust and a few other minor bits. Anyway the conversion has taken me 2 months from start to this point a alot of money with all the uprated parts that I have bought so I thought all would be good! I checked the car over, when I thought that everything was done and took it for its first road test. Everything seemed fine untill the water temprature went through the roof. I was not ragging the car at all! Anyway nursed it back down the road and could not see why it was overheating so decided to do a compression test and yes sure enough the front head gasket has blown
Still I have come this far and it is my own fault I suppose for not stripping down the engine before I put it into my car.
So my fun has to be put on hold a while longer whilst I change both gaskets as a precaution at the weekend.
I suppose good things come to those who wait. Well thats what my missus says anyway.

Do'h! Not good. Get some new belts fitted as you don't want them to do a little hop, skip and a jump
