I paid £250 all in for mine from the DVLA

Its not really a money making thing unless you buy a plate specific to the car. Its just a personal touch I suppose

My major gripe is the fact it cost £400 & then £105 each time ive changed car. Too much money...................

Also if you decide out the blue to change your car, you cant for 2-3 weeks until you've removed the plate - annoyance!!

Well you can state in the reciept of sale that the plate is to be retained buy the seller and have both people sign it

That way you dont have to wait

Might be safe, however theres always a chance you'll never see it again!!

Im just talking in general times, your meant to remove the plate bofore selling the car which takes time & is hassle!!

My only advice would be dont get one that refers to the car in anyway cos it will be meaningless when you change cars next and be stuck trying to sell it on.

R60 COM (RetroSixty.com) Wouldn't bother with a name one personally, looks silly unless it's 100% your name i.e for me N1CK W.

The DVLA is normally the cheapest by far, the others like elite registrations etc are a rip for anything half decent.

I have 3 private regs

C13WTH on my Cossie and
N3OOST on retention
and G20LET and my calibra turbo

I'm in the process of buying another for my van.

All of them I bought off the DVLA

I paid 500 for mine (off DVLA) I bought it as I'd have only spent the money on other stuff over time, and thought that they are only going to get rarer.

Wish I wouldn't have bothered TBH I Would prefer it if I had a nicer car for it to go on!
