Ive spent the last 4 hrs replacing the alternator on the corsa, and now the spring for the tensioner will not mate with the hole. its dark and cold outside, and im pissed off now!! how can a simple thing like that be so hard to put back on?

Wait until daylight. I find trying to do something awkward becomes impossible when its dark and im pissed off.
