So, at my place of work, i work 9am - 5:30 pm

And in the last few weeks, i have noticed even if i work 20 mins over the 5:30 finnish time, i am not getting paid.

We have a clocking in system, swipe in/out.

But for example, if i clocked in at 8:40 and out at 5:50 (working 40 mins over) And i am still not getting paid

Anyway, my question is, are they allowed to do this? It is seriously pissing me off

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, we get 2 x15 min breaks a day, that we get paid for.

And my boss always tells me to get my 1st break at 10:15, which i dont want, because i have only been there an hour, and the last thing i need is a break (would rather have it at 11ish)

So, if i am entitled to 2 15 min breaks a day (paid for) (i also get 30 mins lunch that im not paid for) Am i also entitled to take it when i want, or when im told to??

Thanks
Jack

if they are making you stay over, and your not doing it off your own back, then they are changing the log on/out times, my old manager did that at my old job :@

as for your breaks, they pay you, they say when.

Does it say anything in your contract about overtime pay? It may specifically say that you get paid for the hours 9-5:30.

Ask your boss if you should be getting paid, if yes then ask wages for it, and if not clock in a 8:55 and walk out the door at 5:30.

It's stupid you giving them time for nothing!

query it with them, could be that they pay anything worked over 20 or 30 mins?? I.e, if you are in before 8:30am then that could trigger overtime payments.

If you are permanent staff then you should 100% have a contract of employment. It's compulsory for every company to issue employees with contracts

How does that work? Say you got ill and needed to be off work, you saying they wouldn't be obliged to pay you sick pay and would just release you from your job?

Madness.

^ Thats a good point!

Also, there was a 2-3 month probation period when i started - i have been here for 10 months! And havent heard anything about it.

Im still on 4.74 an hour and i have made the company easily over £100,000 in the time i have been working there
