Is the last 8 digits of the 16 digit number on the bank card the account number? I'm trying to pay a guy and i don't have a clue about his banks system.

first 4 digits ignore, the next 4 are sort code, then the last ones are account number

Sort code is 6 digits
Ignore first 4 as said, then 6 for sort code, then a/c number

sorry yeah, being an idiot Ignore first 6, then somehting like 40-24-11 for sortcode, then the last 8 digits are accnt number
