No idea about their laws should you be taking some into the country for the flight back!

I always consider two things - the crew are more skilled than me and if something goes wrong they'll do what they can to sort it. Secondly, if it crashes there's not much I can do so I need to look happy and go with it. You don't have any say as soon as the cabin door closes, forget it.

I am exactly the same as you, but i flew to america last month and i have never been so relaxed on any flight. I just dranks lots of water and watched the tv which took my mind of it completely and i was shocked when we were ready to land as it had gone so quick

I hate flying, but it is the safest mode of transport.

Book one of these foundation flying lessons in a Cessna. Once you get up there, you'll have seen all the checks etc that go into a small aircraft which are multiplied by hundreds in a passenger jet, as well as getting a feel for flying itself.
If you have an idea of what's happening up front on a flight, you might find it calming.
Its worth it ash I am only 6 hrs off my ppl now.

im with Hammer on this. Cigar tube overloaded with luggage and fat people. Its not right. I probably wouldnt get worried if i werent confined like battery hens.
Statistics mean fa. Ive been in a car crash and im fine. Infact ive been in 2! Ive never met anyone who survived a plane crash outside of sky1.
If a car crashes, you might die, but its highly unlikey. If a plane crashes? You die. End of.
No use telling me its the safest form of transport when im plunging rom 37000ft.
I love planes, i flew on one of the earliest passenger planes, a dehaviland rapide from the 30's. It was one of the best experiences of my life, felt natural almost.
Most planes may undergo safety checks granted. But alot of them are 30+ years old and make me uneasy!
Still do it, but my heart races on take off.

Drink loads of water, that way you'll be terrified of pissing yourself & will soon forget about the flight!!

You flew in something made by DeHaviland Jambo. I don't think I would even step foot in one of their aircraft as we are using them as a case study for a module at at uni on design failure analysis and business ethics
Don't think you'll be seeing too many 30 year old airliners either these days. Your average Ryanair is about 3 years old. I suppose, there are a few DC 9's and 10's flying about still. Spanair? They are too inefficient and thirsty to operate really now.

Don't you have a serious heart problem though? How do you get on with that and piloting?
