Anyone else do this?
I donated blood for the 1st time today.
Im not scared of blood or needles so i thought everything would be fine and it was at first.
I passed all the questions and reasured the nurse that i dont have sex with men, nor have i slept with any prostitutes so onto the next step we went.
The nurse had no trouble finding a nice fat vein from my arm and within 6 minutes id donated a pint of blood.
Now.......
Felt absolutely fine so got off the bed and bang, the room is spinning, i cant see and i feel like im on fire! Next thing i know 3 nurses rush over, im on my back on a bed, feet in the air and a fan on my face on full blast.
Back at work now and feel fine

it is a way for saving another person's life by donating blood and maybe in future could be yourself who need a blood transfusion

my dad used to give blood, good job he did really as it highlighted a rare-ish blood disease called aplastic anaemia. basically your body doesn't create the ingredients that make your blood up, so your blood doesn't clot.
when he was donating blood for the last time he said when he took the bandage thing off it hit the ceiling
i really ought to give blood, without people giving blood my dad certainly wouldn't be here now, and my brother probably wouldn't either

same thing happened to me when I had to have blood taken. Always had a huge fear of needles and blood plus it made me go really light headed so ended up passing out
As much as I'd like to give blood I really dont think I could because im too scared

I was fine first time, second time i collapsed
Means i get more time with the nurse though unless they are ming, then i decline the 'extra few minutes rest' and rush to my waiting biscuits

I would love to do it but I am absolutely hopeless. I faint if people even talk about needles.

it's nothing to do with the needles though, something to do with my body not accepting it.
