i have some cash locked up in an ISA i want it back! how do i go about withdrawing it? do i have to notify them and give them time?

They call it ordering your money, basically they can't give it to you there and then you have to arrange to go pick it up, mind you I'm only going on what I've heard from mates doing it as I didn't open one so I could draw it out.

If it's been dormant for a while (2 years i think) then you'll have to go down and fill out a form and produce ID to claim it back.
Just had to do this with mine. Seems a bit daft, but it wasn't too much hassle.
