You will only get 3 points it would be 6 if you where doing double the speed limit.

No there is no set penalty - he will get what the courts says. I know of people who have been banned for 56 in a 40 and that was a dual carridge!

i recently got caught, about a week ago doing 52 in a 30 (which is the equivalent of what you've done) and I got 3 points and a 60 quid fine.

just hope theyre lenient

probably 5 points and £150 fine; guessing at that as my missus got done for similar coming out of the roadworks on a motorway

letter through from fixed penalty office today!

offered me driver awareness course £89. very very lucky i think. 4 months to do it in.

you cant ask for it, they just offered me it, i was expecting 4-5 points and a hefty fine. consider myself very lucky.

lol maybe so, but i got 3 points and £60 fine for doing 49 in a 40 lol? not quite sure how it works how they determine who to offer the course to?

also have to do a short course on the internet and answer questions after the safety awareness course.

dont no the area that well but my mate got caught doing 60 in a 30 which i believe should be a ban but if its built up areas you can be chosen to attend a driving course which means you pay the fine but you attend the course instead of recieving points
