How much would it cost to convert a big V8 such as a C43 AMG? Only thing stopping me buying one this instant is the sub 20mpg when I drive 60 miles per day

Don't be a pansy. Fuel is the best liquid to buy.

no.
it will use more gas than petrol..
so say if u do 20 miles per galon of petrol, will do 15 miles per galon. and power will be almost the same (best case) if u get 4th generation LPG system installed. it is most expensive( actually i think there is fifth generation now) out of the lot. it uses computer to control all the processes(starts the car on petrol, then when engine reaches certain temp switches to LPG, the mix of gas and air, just like ecu's do in modern cars.)
Older systems where mechanical, and mixture of gas and air was setup in same way as carb on any old car..however they where not too effiecient and would use up to 75 percent more gas than petrol.. still its cheaper as gas is twice cheaper than petrol..
then u have an issue with second tank.. ussually its in place of spare wheel but these tank are only about 40 ltr, so not exactly big, bearing in mind that if u doo 15 mpg, and u got 9 gallon tank, i will only do ~135 miles out of tank..
alternative to that is a big tank, that goes into boot, they are 80+ litres i think, and go behind the rear seats in the boot.
