I posted up a while ago about getting a bike for some exercise and to get to work some times. So my work have signed up to some scheme which means I can get one and money back or pay monthly or some shit. I was thinking of a specialized rockhopper pro last time I was considering it. Budget is around £500, wondering if anyone knows where is the best place to look, should I buy locally or can you buy for cheaper of the tinterweb? Anything else I should be considering (other bikes)?

I think this is the cycle to work scheme which has a tax break incentive, and you probably pay monthly. i think you get vouchers to spend at halfrauds...

Personally, I'd go with any Specialized. It will be more than adequate for what you want it for.

I have a specialised Hardrock previously and currently have a Trek 4300.
Bothe were ace bikes, but the Trek was better spec'd for the money.
I don't think you could go far wrong with either.

That would be me tom. Formby cycles
For £500, id say take alook at the Hardrock Pro Disk 09 - £499
Or the specialized rockhopper disk 09 - £599
If you can stretch it the trek 6300 09 would be a good purchace - £649
Or maybe even the trek 6000 09 - £549

although this might upset the bike snobs, the carrera fury is a very good entry bike.
Read the reviews and do your research on it, great little bike. Just make sure its put together correctly
