My mate is after a focus (the original one).

Any bits to look out for? I know about the speedo problem

We went to look at one earlier and on the boot below the middle of the glass, there was about a patch (about 1" round) were the paint had come off and it was starting to rust. Is this common?

leaky seals, speedos take it for atleast a 20min test drive, electric windows tend to fail, gearboxs can go.
