Right I have been in contact with my Insurance, and they have allowed me to have a courtesy car while my car is being repaired as the clutch went on it yesterday, as they said it could be up to two weeks . they have given me a number to call to say that im eligable for one but what do i say as i've never had to have one before.

In my world, you have your clutch changed by a garage. If that garage has a courtesy car, they will lend it to you while the work is being done. If not, tough shit.
Insurance has NOTHING to do with clutches?

Phone the number, if a bloke answer it, ask him for drinks and then ask for a car. You never know, it might work. Which insurance comapny you with anyway?
And where is the clutch being done. Please don't say VW!!!

I'll pretend you never said that pow, and the answer to your question is Zurich clutch is not being done at VW, i got the car from Carcraft so its someone to do with them, their "recommended" garages

I fail to see how ANY insurance policy covers you for general wear and tear work.

Well, tbh, you've been given a number to ring, why don't you just ring it?

Have you got confidence issues? Sorry to be an arse but it seems pretty obvious.
Just ring the number given, say 'my insurance told me to give you a ring to sort out a coutesy car' and take it from there
pow - With some insurance policies you can pay extra for courtesy car cover in case something like this ever happens. Most garages I've seen won't give you a courtesy car of their own.
EDIT: got in there a bit late with this one

Not too shabby, but I assumed since he was talking about insurance companies the courtesy car would come from them
