you'll need to measure things ether way depending on how you want the layout and what things you'll be using etc, get off yer arse and do it properly!

What are you after building ? A false floor or a full on boot build ?
It really isnt rocket science, depends how your planning on doing it and what shape etc. Best thing to do would be to masking tape up the areas your planning on having the install and fibreglass them. Do that for the base. Make a wooden frame and fg around it to make the hole in the top.
If you do it properly you can work you the internal capacity by pouring water in and doing some mathmatic equation, however not needed if your just after a bit of bass.
If you dont want to go down the FG route, big bit or cardboard, cut to shape in the boot, wooden frame and bobs your uncle.
Lots of ways it can be done, just have a crack.
