corsa's fucked it once a corner comes up compared to the rest. Zetec-s, 106 xsi's and vtr's. No need to mention gti's and vts's.

thing to remember is how old the corsa design is in terms of cars the first corsa was what 1992 -1993

Who mentioned Clio? 110bhp from the 1.6 16v - my megane has this engine, with 148k miles (gets oil every 2k, so its ok). Megane's weight is 1020kg - sure a clio, being lighter? isn't going to be that slow?
Megane feels 'nippy' enough...
The old 8v engine, however, is a different matter.
The all seem much of a muchness, really, with the civic vti, and saxo vts/106 gti quite a way ahead...

I had a long play with a standard 1.3 ford ka. The damn thing kept up round fast corners but when it came to a straight, i pulled away. The other guy was early 20's, he said that he raced carts since he was young. BASTARD! He could drive!
