Id wait till the snap on account is unfrozen.
If money is no issue, buy the best. What part of the trade are you in, and what is the use etc?
People say ooo halfords is as good as snap on. Id say 95% of these people do not use them in heavy duty jobs. Halfords spanners for example are slightly sloppy on a nut/bolt, causing in some instances of tight bolts to round the nut off. Snap on stuff is a perfect fit, and does not cause this.
For the car trade, halfords equipment may sufice, but working in the HGV trade, i would not use anything else

I work for Bae Systems building Typhoons and the vast majority of tool we use are Stahlwille. They are good tools and seem good enough for the military aviation industry.

I would rather lose by a mile because i built my own car, than win by an inch because someone else built it for me.

i use Facom spanners working on heavy plant and they can take some amount of abuse, but if you can afford snap on then you might as well buy those, i know i would if i had the money

i also have the extra long spanners from britool and i would say to avoid britool spannners as they are pretty thin and flex quite a bit, and the edges dont half dig into your hand on them

Yea for your needs carl, bahco sounds fine for you.
Its just little things like how rounded the spanners are, so when ure pulling hard on them, it doesnt cut into your hand and shit like that. But if your not using them for heavy duty, anything like bahco, teng halfords etc is fine

makes perfect sense dan. snap on consumables such as chisels etc are just as good as market or cheaper stuff. and your just going to hit the fook out em anyway.
spanners etc the lifetime warranty may be rivaled(SP) but the quality isnt.
another note about the halfords stuff, do you really want to be taking a trip to replace 1 spanner. snap on van comes to you, does it there and then in most cases.
im 3 years in an just finishing my apprenticship, started with snap on and have only snap on stuff.

halfords all the way, ive bust a few parts in my set usually due to mis-use rather than normal use, and they just swap the broken bit for brand new every time. halfords ftw.

well i had a guy come into our halfords store in the week. He was doin a job up here and had a van full of snap on tools.
They were all nicked overnight and he had nothing left to do the job. So he came into us and bought £300 worth of stuff. We have a load of other retailers around us selling all sorts of makes. GearWrench, Silverline, Draper. He said to us that the halfords stuff was just as good as the Snap-on, and he only had a van full because he's got a mate who works for Snap-On and he gets them cheap...
so that proved something to me as its a question i often ask myself...but it seems that the people who use them every day, do rate the Halfords tools highly!

Snap-on are the prettiest and usually the dearest but Stahlewille are the most practical in many instances.
