As far as I am concerned you can only get away without a car where the government has made an effort with public transport, i.e. the big cities, where fares are subsidised, it runs on time and where you want/need to get to. Anywhere else and you are fucked without a car

I dont have a car when living in Manc city centre - its all fine at first as everything is close by, but when you get piss wet through with rain whilst carrying a load of bags from the supermarket its not so fun!

I've not had a car since April, but my girlfriend has a car and we live together, so it's not too much of a problem really.

My last insurance company said to me I have 12 months from when I cancelled my insurance policy to get reinsured - otherwise I will lose all my NCB?

Not a chance.

Had to use public transport for a month when I was banned.

My journey time almost quadrupled at times.

I was late for work every day.

I was VERY late home every night.

All journeys were misery on one level or another and I spent most of the time standing.

And my travelling expenses were considerably higher.

I lasted two months without my car while it was insured. Hated every second of it... it wasn't just that I had to bike 15 miles to work everyday, my girlfriend also lives a further 20 miles from my house and she didnt have a car at the time so I never got a chance to see her much.

Hated it i tells ya.
