ive gt a 1.2 8v currently, had it on a ramp the other day and realised that the whole car is pretty mint minus afew bits, was just wondering what peoples views were, torn between making it a super mint 1.2 8v with afew engine mods or sticking a lump in it? thanks chop

id go for the 1.2 8v, because, everyone is buying 2.0 litre redtop's or seh engines now, just that it would make you stand out if you made the 8v into a mint engine matey

new manifold, carbs/throttle bodys, like he sed cams, de-cat, you can do anything to any corsa if you have the money and the determination to follow the idea through

yeh but for the money you spend trying to get the 1.2 fast the 2.0l will always be a cheaper way of getting more power faster.
1.2 will have no torque either.

I'd say get a conversion at least 1.4/1.6 minimum tbh

I wouldn't tune the 1.2, complete waste of cash.
No reason why you can't use the money to make it nicer, just don't do anything unwise.

well you could put a 4-2-1 manifold on it, nd put a cam and vernier pulley on it for little more performance,
would you be able 2 insure a 2.0 litre or something like that? or would it be a "i forgot to tell insurance bout the engine" lol

i would say put some money into a 1.6 engine too. either put the x16 in and play with that...or put the C16 (8v) in and put some carbs on it or something like that.

Agreed - just make it mint and tidy. Don't bother tuning as you'll spend too much for not a lot of gain. Wait until you build up NCB etc if you need them, then get something better

deano has the right idea mate, build up no claims, for a 1.4/1.6 sport but no harm in adding a little bit of something like a cam or something like that

Unless you are going to put a 2.0 or higher in, get it washed up and sell it on to someone who is going to a proper engine transplant. If you are thinking of converting to 1.4/1.6 there really is no point whatsoever, so much hassle you should just buy a stock 1.4/1.6 then go from there
