Ill have 5 modules again this year, same as every year. I have an hour of lecture and an hour of seminar each week so 10 hours a week spread over 5 days, although usually I get 2 3 hour slots, they are killers tbh.
I could choose to do a dissertation at the start, but I didnt want to. Some people chose to do it, however the module you had to do the lecturer has moved somewhere else and they havent been able to replace so its not actually possible to do a dissertation
My problem last year was I bought a 360 and me and my housemate would spend hours on end on pro evo, im living with the missus atm who will atempt to encourage me to work at night, will see how it goes

I'm just going into my final year of a Masters in Mechanical Engineering.
There's a total of 12 modules as normal for my course, with a group project and an individual dissertation. The group project is apparently about 200 hours of work alone, sounds fun
The only problem I have with my course structure this year is the way we are taught the modules - as most of you will be aware, normally all first semester modules are taught alongside each other and all finish approximately the same time, then exams after Christmas.
In my Level M year, we are taught the modules on a two week basis - that is, for the first two weeks we study a single module, then move onto the second module for weeks 3 and 4 etc.
Problem with this is the exams are still after Christmas, so when I do my exams in mid January, there will be one module that I won't have had any tuition on at all since early October.
How can that really be the best way to learn?

Its not, its probably to encourage (read, make you) revise. I dont have any exams until April / May, so its worse for me

Fuck knows if I have exams. We aren't told the course structure until the first session of the module.

I don't mind for the first few weeks, with only one or two modules to keep up to speed on - its when it comes to a end of the semester, with lectures 9-4 from Monday to Friday, dissertation to do, and revision to keep my mind fresh for another 5 modules - thats when its going to get really tough I think!

I think I'll probably have about 4 or 5 lectures a week

So, in theory, I'll be completely done, everything handed in, the Friday before PVS '09. Going to be weird waking up Monday morning (unless I have a job) and thinking "Oh shit, what do I do now"
When have other people finished their final year, as this seems REALLY early? I dread to think I may be done even earlier, 'cause of hand in dates and so on.
Thats about right. I was all done by the middle of May.
You normally get degree results at the beginning July, which gives them that time inbetween to do all the marking.
