Hi All

Well I've mentioned both of the ideas in this thread a couple of times before but not together

Right, Trax is definitely going to be the last outing for my C. It will be going to Trax with For Sale signs in it (it did @ PVS and attracted bugger all attention ), but it will be up for sale on here and Pistonheads afterwards to get rid of it.

I think it's worth around £5500 as it is:

2005 (05 Plate)
1.2 16v Twinport SXi with Full VX Service History
23,000 miles - just had (and passed) 1st MOT
SRi Alloys
Irmscher Springs
Irmscher Grille
Custom black facelift headlights with 8K HID
SRi lower grilles
1.8 SRi backbox with GT3 centre pipe
Tinted fogs
Pi spoiler
Various colour coded / sprayed engine parts
Vectra C Diesel air intake pipe, Pipercross Panel Filter
SRi / SXi+ Silver seatbelts
All ICE will be removed with standard CD30 and speakers fitted back in.

Oh and because of what I do, it's fairly tidy too

Now, the next bit is my wheels are pretty good condition, and just have a couple of light scuffs and a very small chunk out of a couple of wheels that bug me, I'm tempted to refurb them this week (DIY) to tidy them up, but if I do that, I'm highly tempted to do them in gunmetal grey lol

So, do you think it's worth doing or would it put people off with a non standard colour?

Also, sell with or without the black headlights and HIDs?

Any opinions on anything I've said (inc. sale price) would be much appreciated.

Cheers

Rich

No opinions really, but it is bloody smart! Seems to pull off those larger mirrors also, maybe just cause it's so clean though!

Thanks! it did have SRi replica mirrors on it which I took off as I never bothered to wire them in, so I got annoyed not being able to move them! Looked good though:

Had the Seat Ibiza splitter then too.

Stavs - Yeh it'll go on Autotrader and Ebay if here and Pistonheads don't work

Fair enough - I knw you got yours off there.

Opinions on bothering to refurb wheels? Just want it to be as tidy as possible. Even refurb in gunmetal would go with the overall look imo...

Thats pretty much what I was thinking - I have the std lights so thats easy to do.

I was then also thinking leave the lights as a fair amount of people with lightly modified C's do smoke the lights and get darker wheels - so mine could almost be a ready made car in some ways?

put it back to standard as much as possible, it will sell easier and you will get more money in the long run.

I had contemplated this, but now see it as a last resort as I'm not sure I can be bothered.

I still have the std backbox and lights, but would need to get wheels, suspension etc...

I paid the £44 for the 3 weeks in autotrader, only contact I had in them 3 weeks was 1 email to say the ad was live and 1 to say it was ending.

That was for a clean, tidy, well priced normal S3, won't be paying the money again

Thanks Adam - Yeh I know the market is pretty poor atm - typical really!

But my company is my priority right now, and I can get away with just the van for the moment so the car can go.

Plus it's too slow for me now - even the van's quicker

My corsa was on Autotrader for 3 weeks without even a phonecall. I put it up on Pistonheads, and the car left me 3 days later. Your call.

@ the contrast of experiences with different sites! I'm only going on what I've heard from people in the past and the general opinion is that AT isn't usually worth using unless you really can't shift it elsewhere

Looks really smart as always mate. Soo clean

I'd leave the wheels as they are TBH. If you want to tidy them up still just keep the standard colour too.

If your not in a rush to sell it I'd use the chargeable advitisements like autotrader as a last resort.

it's a really smart corsa c mate, no doubts about that.

i find ebay is a good bet, you can list as just 'buy it now' rather than an auction.

as others have mentioned, with not alot of spare cash floating about it might be much trickier to shift.

i wouldn't trust this with your life, but it would suggest you're asking a tad too much:

wisebuyers

good luck with the sale tho

Lovely looking car, but I'm not sure its worth £5500. Parkers says £4000, and even only £4500 at a dealer.

Sorry to say that I reckon you'll be hard pushed to get £5500, especially in this market

Hi All

Thanks for the input from everyone.

£5500 was an optimistic price for what it is now - I've spent around £2k on mods in total now, and a few of them are ones a lot of people still go for with a C if they can - SRi wheels, Irmscher springs, black facelifts, HIDs etc etc

I think I will aim for just under £5k as it is low miles (23k with full VSH) and also has air con which for a 1.2 I think is fairly rare??

After what everyone has said, I may consider going back to standard as much as I can. ie. Swap spoiler, exhaust, stereo back and buy SXi rims, std suspension etc back.

If you're thinking of putting it on AutoTrader, I would return it back to standard.

Advertising at Trax, on Pistonheads and on here, keep it modified.
