Is anyone in the RAF?
How long did it take you to get through the selection process?

the first step is to go to your local AFCO (Armed Forces Careers Office) and show your interest or take a look at what is online. in my experience though the websites will only tell you so much. an AFCO will tell you what trades are being recruted for at the time and the likely length of time it would take to get in.
i would expect 6months from your first contact with the AFCO to going on basic training as an average. i know many people (4+) who's desired trade wasnt recruiting and they waited 9-12months once all the paper work and green light had been given before their training started, one even was told after waiting 9months that there were no more places on that trade and offered him somthing else....he was off within a month! all depends what skills you have, what you want to do and what skills the RAF require at the time - dont be surprised though that an application in Sept 08 will put you on the front line (Afgan/Iraq) by Dec 09!
(i applied but failed on medical ground and now work as Sgt in the ATC and get asked this question often so know the answers! hope that helps?)

Cheers Fonz, some good info there.
I know what I want to get into and was told they were recruiting when I went to the AFCO a month or two ago. I want to get into Supply and Logistics ideally.
