Did this last saturday and all they gave me was a sling to wear.

Supposedly it should just 'go' back into place by its self. The bone is still sticking quite far out just now though.

Has this happened to anyone else and how long did it take to get better?

(note that isn't my x-ray but its what mine looked like)

A mate of mine had a similar injury and just had none stop bother with it popping back out all of the time. After about 2 years of putting up with it he now has to go in for Surgery to have it pinned

Should Heal up nicely on its own.
With some Physio input ideally.

It's a nightmare to get a screw through the clavicle due to it being not that wide/thick. So that route is best avoided where poss.

Thats good Seem to know what your talking about.

Is it best to still wear the sling? Worn it since it happened until apart from today and i dont seem to be having any problems without it.

The hospital haven't mentioned anything about physio but i have to go back next monday so they mite tell me about it then

As for sling, I'd prob stick with current advice until told otherwise. They'll build activity gradually, else you'll end up back at square one with wonky collar bones.

Would it be worth putting CS Doctor under Frasers username?

Didn't realise you could dislocate it. When I did mine they [Canadian doctors] said I had torn the tendons that connect my collar bone to my shoulder, they said it would never heal and I would need it screwing back together. Was told 2 weeks rest in a sling, so three days later I was out skiing

Came back to England and got told much the same, but they wouldn't operate, I liked the not operating part of what I was told.

But fuck me, it hurt.

Did mine skiing. After I hit the ground I thought I'd sit out for 5 mins. 5 mins later I thought that when I get down I'll go home and sit the rest of the day out. 10 mins after that I thought shit, I can hardly move or breathe let alone get down off the mountain, so I ended up having to go down in a sled
