Supermarkets annoy me the most since they've got really stupid with the rules.
When I was under age, even when I was 18, I didn't go in and buy expensive burboun, it was normally cheap vodka, they have to apply a bit of common sense.

I work in Tesco on the c/outs sometimes, there is a lot of pressure on sellers now to get it right. We can face upto a Ł5000 fine per illegal sale ourselves, bollocks to that, dont care if you are 60 and look 17 still ask ya

i got meself one of these cards, proves your 18, and majority of pubs/clubs will accept them (even if they do have to go and see theri manager first http://www.portman-group.org.uk/?pid=7&level=1

The biggest ones are the Proveit cards.
Accepted everywhere so you don't get that problem. Says on that site they no longer do them, and what you said above is probs why.
