Jades Bro wants to do this next year & has asked what would be the best car up to the task.

The task is to drive from Edinburgh to Rome in a car that costs no more than £250.

Im really struggling to think of a decent car for £250!!

I watched an old top gear the other day, and they managed to get an 1980's audi, and old rover and a volvo, each for under a tonne.

I'd go for a big diesel barge, something german with 150k +

Go to dealerships and ask if they have anything they were sending to auction ?

If it goes wrong though it could be harder to get going again. You need something simple. And Europe is full of cheap Opel bits too.

Probably a case of seeing whats about at the time rather than picking what you want and looking for that certain thing.
Can you buy one without MOT and put it through as long as its still sub 250?

MOT and tax are excluded from the £250, so can pay £200 for a none mot and tax car, spend £50 on mot bits and still be eligble
