Anybody watch it just? Basically saying pedigree dogs are so inbred in Britain to try and improve the "perfect dog" according to the kennel club, that the dogs now are all basically deformed. Dogs like bulldogs and pugs used to have long snouts and now they have none. and dogs with a genetically inherited brain tumours are allowed to breed under the KC rules and they dont give a fuck. a vet said basically, if a dog with that disease breeds, its going to pass pain on to the puppies, if you hit a dog with a stick and cause pain, you'd be locked up, so whats the difference if your deliberately causing pain. made me sad

It's pretty obvious something is wrong when you look at a lot of breeds, especially with the small dogs...

they were on about the Rhodesian ridgeback too. basically, the ridge is a deformity, a form of spina bifida, but some puppies are born without it, the official breed club say, that if a puppy is born without the ridge (although technically its healthier than any of the ones with it) it should be culled

yeah some of them were really bad. She even said Zamp vom Thermodos looks uneasy on its back legs, but at least dogs like that have had breed tests. he has the highest level of schutzhund training (tracking, obedience, protection) he has the highest level of German breed standard (kkl1) and has several courage and temperament tests. so at least there owners are trying to breed stable dogs, unlike most of the others

the police still use east German and Czech lines for there GSD. they have a much higher drive, and aren't as prone to problems, but because of there colours and straight backs, they wouldn't win a show (but who cares, right?)

makes you wonder why people pay so much money for a sickly pedigree dog when there are so many healthy dogs at rescue homes that need rehoming.

Some of these breeders are twats.

We have a pedigree Staff Bull Terrier that we rescued when she was about 6 months old as the breeder was awful to her, used to beat her. Its a stunner as far as dogs go but we recently found out that their is a history of dogs having fits in her fathers bloodline. So just hope that she doesn't have it!

i turned it over when i saw that kings charles spaniel crying and having fits on the floor not nice imo. the last dog we had was a dalmation. wappy as buggery bless him, nothing wrong with him health why's just had a hell of allot of bad luck.first time he was knocked over by a train (thankfully knocked clear). then second time had a bowel infection. the one that killed him was a tumar , if anyone owns a pet and hasnt allready insured it do it now. it saved me nearly 6k in vet fee's

I seen it advertised, started watching it although it was a bit upsetting...

It's terrible to see how much the dogs have changed through the generations just to get a 'perfect dog'..

Next door neighbour has a King Charles, i was really wanting to get one, but considering that the breed is one of the most popular in being deformed in some way it really put me off...

It's pathetic to think that some people breed them on purpose knowing that sometime in their life they're going to be in very severe pain....

Humans wouldn't do it to us, so why should people allow for it to happen to dogs!
