It's amazing, buy it. And the Golf GTI one. And any other one in the series you think you'd like, because you'll love them.

This belongs to a good friend who has owned it for the last 17 years.
The car had been in dry storage from 2002 (when it was last taxed) until about 8 months ago, since it has been outside. She had the oil and plugs changed about the same time and was driven to its current location.
Engine has done 34172 miles.
Ford Sierra RS Cosworth 4 door 2wd “Snowstorm”
Registration date 06/09/1988
Bought 12/08/1991
All work carried out by Tony Mannock of Mannock Race Engines/Turbo Systems
4x4 Cosworth stress relieved block with low compression racing pistons
Modified “winged” sump
Blueprinted and gas flowed Head
Modified Hybrid Cams
Modified RS 500 plenum chamber
8 injector sequential set up
Modified Garret T04 Turbo
Specialist individual design radiator
RS500 Intercooler
Charge Cooler
Mainly Stainless tanks and Aeroquip braided piping
Specially commissioned 6 speed gear box (can’t remember make, I’ll find the bill eventually, but it was made in America to spec by a company specialising in drag racing kit and was over £5k. Got fed up with breaking the standard gearboxes!)
Oil cooler
Up-rated diff (but can’t remember what)
Diff oil cooler
Variable boost control
TMC Powermax 700 Adjustable Nitrous System
Adjustable race suspension
Race logic traction and launch control (needs re-configuring)
Strut Brace
Up-rated, vented, grooved disks
AP 4 pot callipers, Twin callipers on front
3” stainless exhaust system with twin 4” tail pipes
RS500 Front lip spoiler
Andy Rouse Light-weight Rear Spoiler
Originally was around 580bhp without the Nitrous. The Nitrous is set to give a very modest extra 35-40bhp but the jets could be changed to give more. This car has been in various magazines. One magazine recorded 179.6mph at Bruntingthorpe, that was before the nitrous was fitted.
This is a car that I have looked at on many occasions but I have just not got the time or the space to take on a project of this kind.
Offers in the region of 10 -12k the sister car to this sold a couple of years ago for just over 15k
for sale for 10k btw

Silly question perhaps but... What sort of condition was the car in when it was dry stored- similar to these pics? Or it's in need of TLC due to being outside for the past 8moths or so?

I wouldn't say sad and unloved James. Just well used and starting to get on a bit. She is twenty years old so will be showing signs of exposure and usage.
On the other hand though, along with Desert Storm (a name that never made any sence), the Castle Performance cars and a few other choice examples of style, elegance and good taste being obliterated by corporate bollocks and promotional shite, she DOES, as she did then, look like utter shite.
To ruin one perfectly lovely car is bad enough. To ruin two should be a hanging offence.
The Tiger/Zebra stripes should have been left where they belonged. On the Works prototype Escort Cosworth. Not pinched wholesale and used inappropriately on an earlier vehicle.
As for the three spoke wheels. They still leave me as seething today as they did the first time I saw them. They should have been left to adorn the shitboxes of the loud stereo brigade and should never have seen action on anything that drove the back wheels.
Grrr!
Still, i'd gladly give 'em 500 quid for it and then hurl the rims in the skip at work along with a bin bag full of scraped off decals.

Blue one is worse because you can't simply remove what's ruining it.
