Mind you after adding my mods to the insurance they bump up my premium but dont cover the mods if they are damaged. Stupid eh.

But the price you paid doesnt take into account the prices they currently fetch, surely?

I thought this with my Smoked Irmy rears, but they wouldnt be as hard tbh.

mind you in a smash the bumpers could be saved with fibreglass and alot of work and just keep the money from insurance. (obviously not if they are totally fucked)
Difficult to say!

If you are insured like for like they should fork out the price of an airdam. If not, like most cases, they replace with standard parts.

I ended up rebuilding mine after a prang, didn't bother to claim for it.

thats what i thought but then again its worth every penny to rebuild them. There was one on a wrecked corsa at the scrappy a year back but by the time i phoned the yard someone had bought it

You can get hold of irmscher stuff via the dealers, but they cost an absolute bomb and the parts assistants are usually useless when it comes to getting hold of them.
I wouldnt bother declaring them as modifications, they all have GM part numbers on them, so you can claim they are factory fit items.
